So, I have been spending a lot of time thinking about the Dance Ministry and the upcoming fall and spring semesters. For those of you who don't know Circle of Praise Dance Ministry is a huge part of my life. I love being able to pour my life into girls as they are growing in Christ. I have really been studying Dance in the Bible this summer and here is one of my favorite passages.
Psalm 150:1-2,4,6
(Vs.1)
Praise the Lord!
Praise God in His sanctuary;
Praise Him in His mighty expanse.
(Vs. 2)
Praise Him for His mighty deeds;
Praise Him according to His excellent greatness.
(Vs. 4)
Praise Him with Timbrel and Dancing;
Praise Him with stringed instruments and pipe.
(Vs. 6)
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord
Psalms 149:3
Let them praise His name with the dance; Let them sing praises to Him with the timbrel and harp.
Ecclesiastes 3:1, 4
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance
Thoughts :
We are called and commanded to dance. It’s not a choice. The Bible doesn’t say let everything that has breath “and feels like it” praise the Lord. It is a call to all generations, and to every tribe and tongue. If we do not praise him the Rocks will.
I love this Psalm because it gives us the where and the why then it tells us how.
Psalms 150 tells us that we should praise him in the sanctuary and in the world, that we should praise him not only for what he’s done but also for his greatness alone.
Sometimes worship needs to be more about the Greatness of God and who he is than it is about who we are and what we are trying to give him. He alone is worthy and he alone deserves our praise, our adoration, and our worship regardless of what he has or hasn't done for us.
Psalm 150 also tells us how we should praise God. Our method of praise is to dance. In Ecclesiastes dancing is the opposite of mourning, dancing is the overflow of the love and the joy that we have inside of us. The love that we have received through the saving power of Jesus Christ, and the joy that fills us as we walk close to him on a daily basis.
Our lives were created to worship. Our bodies were created to Dance.
We are called to worship. We were made to worship.
For who God is, For what He’s done,
And all He has created us to be.

My First Attempt at a Blog
Hello Everyone!
We have had a busy summer. So far we've already been on Vacation to Fort Smith, New Mexico, Fairfield Bay, Hot Springs, and Mountain Home and we are leaving next week for Destin, FL. Sometimes I feel as if my life consists of packing, unpacking, doing laundry, and re-packing :) I have enjoyied all the trips, but I will be glad to get back into a fall schedule.
I took some new pictures of Zachary the other day so I thought I would share those with you. These are of him in his new favorite toy "The Laundry Basket". If you haven't checked out Zach's blog then you can do that at http://zacharypictures.blogspot.com (I guess the true sign of being old is that your children are more ahead of the trend than you are)
This is the look I got when I walked in with the Camera.
I decided that I would finally stop stalking other peoples blogs and create my own. At least now I feel as if I am up to date with society. I don't know if anyone will find what I have to say interesting, but we will give it a try for a little while.
I thought the best way to start would be just with an update on life. Jonathan and I will have been married two wonderful years on August 4th. I can't believe how the time has flown by. We have an amazing son Zachary who was born on January 10, 2008 and he is 6 months old now. God has blessed our family so much and we stand in awe of Him each and every day.
Currently Jonathan is working for Acxiom Corp. out of Conway and I am staying at home with Zachary. My sister and I teach dance at the Church most afternoons during the school year. I am incredibly blessed to get to spend my time doing the three things I love. 1) Spending time with my incredible husband, 2) Taking care of my baby, and 3) Teaching young girls to worship God with their bodies and their lives.
