My Big Boy!

I know it's been a LONG time since I updated this blog but we have some exciting news to share and I also realized that the pictures of Zachary were very outdated. So here are some recent pictures and I will try to be better about keeping everyone up to date. Also, Jonathan and I are expecting again in February so we will have lots to share along the way. We will know in a little less than 2 weeks if it will be a boy or a girl so stay tuned for the big news!

On to the Pictures:

Zach is just learning to "Sit" and take a picture. He's still working on is smile :) He also wants to look at the camera and see himself in between every picture so he is constantly moving and doesn't always sit still long enough yet.

This is Zach pretending to take a picture with my phone. He loves to pretend he's talking on the phone, texting and taking pictures. Makes me realize how much time I spend on my phone!

We recently had an open house and Jonathan bought these Balloons. Zach Loved them and carried them around for days!!

Zach and "Big Kid Food"

Ok, I know I am partial, but Zach is so cute these days. He has decided that he likes to eat "Big Kid Food" Aka... he doesn't like it all cut up and torn up. He likes to eat an entire apple on the core, or a whole bread stick, or as you can see from these pictures. Corn ON the Cob. :)

I actually have found it's not as bad as I first thought because he only has teeth in the front, He can't actually chew, so if he had a large item, he takes little bites and he eats a lot more. Weird, I know.

Look at how adorable he is... The corn is almost as big as he is.

Do you think about what you eat?

I heard on Good Morning America a few weeks ago (Maybe even months now) that the best way to loose weight is to write down everything you eat. Now I am not trying to loose weight, but I did get selected for a research study that requires me to track what I am eating. (You can read more about the study here

I have to tell you I have never been so aware of what I am eating. Zach just left to go to my Mom's house, and I was cooking and I thought "Oh I need a snack", then I thought.... but I will have to record it.... So I didn't eat a snack. :) I don't know if it would work if you were trying to loose weight or not, but it might be worth a shot. Ha, I might even loose 5 lbs. before the study is over :)

Just some food for thought...

Updated Pictures

Zachary is doing some of the cutest things now. He's starting to come up with games on his own now, I don't know where he learns some of this stuff, but it cracks me up, and the more I laugh, the more he continues. Some days I think he would do anything to see me laugh. :)

His new favorite word (Kinda his only discernable word) is Ball.... so he walks around the house saying Ball, Ball and throwing down whatever ball he has at the time. Then, he refuses to pick the ball up till you pick it up and throw it back to him. Then he will pick it up and say Ball, Ball again and continue in the same cycle all day long.... Here are some pictures of him with his Tennis Ball

This is Zach deciding that it was funny to put his favorite blanket over his head. I think he kept doing it because I couldn't stop laughing. As soon as I turned around from my computer and saw him like this all I could picture was this time in 3 year old Mothers Day Out when we did a nativity scene, can't you just see my little shepherd boy now??? I think he would be perfect for the part.

We have been extremely sick this week. I think if I have had 3 hours of sleep in a row in the last 7 days it would have been a miracle. Zachary is over the sickness and on to teething. The doctor said when we went in on Monday that he was getting his 1 year old molars, so that even when he started to feel better, he might not be sleeping through the night. (Way to be encouraging, right?). Zach has had his fingers in his mouth all day chewing on them towards the back right side, so I think hopefully... we will get these teeth in and go back to our sleeping routine.

Little Feet

Sometimes I forget just how much kids learn from us about social norms. I was cracking up the other day when Zach decided to pull toilet paper off the roll in the bathroom and tear it into pieces. Then he walked all over it and kept going back into the bedroom where I took these pictures.

I couldn't stop laughing because Zach didn't realize what he had done and he just kept looking at me like "Mom, what's so funny". Oh how I love their sweet innocence!

Look at those cute feet.
Trying to Share, thinking that would make me stop laughing.

Trying to get it off his feet. Much harder than it looks :)

Thankful for a little tree!

For those of you who know Jonathan very well, you know he loves to work on projects. When we first got married he showed me this drawing of how he wanted to do the landscaping. I of course said "go for it" because I am not the type to get out in the yard and I knew he would enjoy it more than I.

About 2 years ago we purchased this little bitty "Tree" although I always thought it looked more like a stick, but it has slowly turned into a nice little tree. This past week or little tree endured a lot of ice, bent all the way over to the ground, and didn't even break a limb. (Isn't that a good little tree?)

I don't think I have ever been so grateful for a yard without trees as I was this past weekend. I know a lot of you had trees fall down, and my thoughts and prayers are with you. I know it's going to be a long road to recover from this ice storm.

Here are a few of our pictures from the past week.

Ok, I know it's not the right direction, but this was one of my favorites.
This is a road over by the church.

These are the power lines down that had to be repaired before our power would work again.

This is from our driveway. If you look to the far right of the picture you can see our little tree. This was on Thursday after everything had started to melt some.
