Little Feet

Sometimes I forget just how much kids learn from us about social norms. I was cracking up the other day when Zach decided to pull toilet paper off the roll in the bathroom and tear it into pieces. Then he walked all over it and kept going back into the bedroom where I took these pictures.

I couldn't stop laughing because Zach didn't realize what he had done and he just kept looking at me like "Mom, what's so funny". Oh how I love their sweet innocence!

Thankful for a little tree!

For those of you who know Jonathan very well, you know he loves to work on projects. When we first got married he showed me this drawing of how he wanted to do the landscaping. I of course said "go for it" because I am not the type to get out in the yard and I knew he would enjoy it more than I.

About 2 years ago we purchased this little bitty "Tree" although I always thought it looked more like a stick, but it has slowly turned into a nice little tree. This past week or little tree endured a lot of ice, bent all the way over to the ground, and didn't even break a limb. (Isn't that a good little tree?)

I don't think I have ever been so grateful for a yard without trees as I was this past weekend. I know a lot of you had trees fall down, and my thoughts and prayers are with you. I know it's going to be a long road to recover from this ice storm.

We have had a great Winter so far. The cruise we went on over new year's was amazing, and while we missed Zach I don't think he even noticed we were gone :( he had so much fun playing with his Mimi and Papa Wayne that he barely had time to notice we weren't there. He adjusted just fine.

Life is starting to get back on a schedule now that we are home, and I am enjoying the snow/ice day to get caught up on the little things.

Schisler Family Christmas

Last weekend we started our Christmas celebrations in Conway at James & Jenny's house. We went down on Friday night and opened stockings and watched a movie, then Saturday morning got up and opened presents. We ate lunch together and then came back home. It was a little different than most years past, but we had a great time. Thanks to James & Jenny for opening their house to everyone for Christmas this year.

Zachary is already LOVING Christmas. He has a light and sound nativity that he can play with and it tells the entire Christmas story, he also loves pulling things out of stockings and opening presents. I am enjoying so much this Christmas season as Zach is just the perfect age to experience his first Christmas.

Here are some recent family pictures we took. Zach had been running a fever for the 5 days prior to these being taken, so he's not as animated as I would have liked, but I am so grateful to Jonathan's cousin Alli for spending part of her thanksgiving taking these photos. I don't have all of them on my computer yet, but here are some of the favorites of the ones I do have.

Thanksgiving Weekend

I think this picture sums up our weekend. :)

We had a great thanksgiving! Jonathan's family came in town for Thanksgiving lunch and we had Thanksgiving dinner with my family that evening. Thursday morning was the first day Zach didn't run a fever over a 100, so we were especially grateful for that. However, our nap schedule was a little off due to the festivities as you can see by this picture from Saturday night.

We took Zach to see the lights at Silver Dollar City on Saturday. He LOVED the moving tree, and the parade. We got lots of pictures, but we've been in a computer transition around here so I don't have a way to get them on my new computer just yet. I will update the pictures as soon as I can.
