Schisler Family Christmas

Last weekend we started our Christmas celebrations in Conway at James & Jenny's house. We went down on Friday night and opened stockings and watched a movie, then Saturday morning got up and opened presents. We ate lunch together and then came back home. It was a little different than most years past, but we had a great time. Thanks to James & Jenny for opening their house to everyone for Christmas this year.

Zachary is already LOVING Christmas. He has a light and sound nativity that he can play with and it tells the entire Christmas story, he also loves pulling things out of stockings and opening presents. I am enjoying so much this Christmas season as Zach is just the perfect age to experience his first Christmas.
Here are a few photos from our trip to Conway:
Zachary had a great time opening his Stocking (Thanks Aunt Jenny & Uncle James)

We all enjoyed watching the Santa Clause 3
My Adorable Husband in his Christmas Pajamas :)

The entire family in the Living Room

Zachary as he came around the corner on "Christmas" morning :) (Awe I love the excitement in his eyes!)

Zach is a pro at opening presents thanks to Jordan and Jason's birthdays a few weeks ago.

He is also a natural at opening bags with tissue paper ;)
And last but not least, you couldn't have a Schisler family Christmas without some Video Games

This is Granddad Schisler trying to teach Zachary how to play video games.

Schisler Family Pictures

Here are some recent family pictures we took. Zach had been running a fever for the 5 days prior to these being taken, so he's not as animated as I would have liked, but I am so grateful to Jonathan's cousin Alli for spending part of her thanksgiving taking these photos. I don't have all of them on my computer yet, but here are some of the favorites of the ones I do have.

Thanksgiving Weekend

I think this picture sums up our weekend. :)

We had a great thanksgiving! Jonathan's family came in town for Thanksgiving lunch and we had Thanksgiving dinner with my family that evening. Thursday morning was the first day Zach didn't run a fever over a 100, so we were especially grateful for that. However, our nap schedule was a little off due to the festivities as you can see by this picture from Saturday night.

We took Zach to see the lights at Silver Dollar City on Saturday. He LOVED the moving tree, and the parade. We got lots of pictures, but we've been in a computer transition around here so I don't have a way to get them on my new computer just yet. I will update the pictures as soon as I can.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Under the Weather

This has been a strange week around the Schisler house. I finished up dance classes last week so I haven't been at the church at all since Sunday night (You would understand how amazing this is if you realized that I typically visit the church about twice a day). I also haven't had my typical turbo kick class so we have spent a lot of time at home recently.

I mentioned in my last post that Zachary had been running a fever this weekend. Well, I took him to the doctor on Monday morning because his fever had gotten up to 103 and was still high even after he had tylenol. The doctor said his ears, throat, chest, nose, and everything else was clear so they decided it must be a stomach virus. I don't know how long a stomach virus is supposed to last, but as of this morning we are going on our 5th day of a fever over 100. I'm starting to wonder if there is something more going on. Please keep Zachary in your prayers. He's been a real trooper but you can tell he doesn't feel well at all.

I am hoping he will recover quickly, He loves to eat and his appitite hasn't been normal lately. I was so excited about his first thanksgiving, but now I don't know if he'll eat much of it at all.

Priceless....

Here are a few pictures from this week. Zach hasn't felt well this weekend, he's been teathing and running a fever, so it makes me smile to look at these pictures of him smiling. I can't believe he's getting so big.

It's all a blur...

Wow! I know it's been a long time since I have updated the blog. I promise I am working to get better at this. Life always gets crazy this time of the year, and although that is not really an excuse I am just asking for a little grace.

I have recently come to the realization that life with Zach isn't going to slow down anytime soon. Actually I have found that the older he gets the faster he moves and the faster I have to react. :) I have also found that while I am learning to keep up with our new pace, my camera is still lagging behind. It seems every picture I take turns our blurry because Zachary decides to move before the picture can take. I think I need a new camera with a faster speed for Christmas. (hint, hint...) Here is one of my recent favorites, and a few blurry pics to illustrate my point.

My Baby is Walking

Since he was like 2 weeks old, Zach insisted on standing on our laps rather than sitting. He's always on the move, and his favorite spot in the house is the living room where he can move around all of the couches. He's been starting to stand up on his own, but as soon as he realizes it he sits down because he was afraid of falling.

Then today... I went to pick Zach up after dance from his Grandmother Schisler's house only to find that my baby had started to walk and I missed it. He did however show off for his mommy and take a few steps (about 3). He then also showed off for Daddy when we got home and took several more steps. I also was able to get him walking on video, so as soon as I figure out how to transfer it to the computer I will try and upload a video. I can't believe my baby is starting to walk at 9 1/2 months!

Also, one last thing. I wanted to say congratulations to our friends Travis and Desty Ellis. They welcomed Kailyn Marie Ellis into this world this afternoon at 2:53pm, she weighed 7lbs. 7oz.

Warm Soup for a Cold Day

Recently I signed up to be a part of General Mills Psst.. Program. This program offers high value coupons to those who are willing to share them and pass them on to their friends.
I just received my first set of coupons for $1.10 off a single can of any Progresso soup. I went to Walmart today to purchase my soup and it's on sale for 1.50 a can, so with the coupons you will only pay $0.40 a can!
If you would like a coupon you can leave a comment with your email address, or email me at hschisl@gmail.com

The more coupons I pass out, the more offers I will receive in the future, so I would love to share these with you!

Have a great Monday!

A Night of Worship

I am so proud of my dance girls! They got to dance for church tonight during the Worship & Arts Kids night. They did a great job, we had a lot of ups and downs this week, but God was faithful through it all and everything was so beautiful. Here are just a few pics from tonight! (Sorry about the lighting)

A Quick Update

The last few weeks have been a little crazy around here, so I apologize for not updating the blog sooner. I actually tried to update last week and I got all my pictures loaded, and all my comments made and then I logged into my other gmail account and it closed out everything and all was lost :( I was really frustrated by that point so I just gave up.

Zachary is growing up so fast. He is quickly turning from a baby into a little boy. The other day he decided that the fireplace looked entertaining so within about 60 sec. he crawled over to the fireplace, crawled up on the hearth, opened the doors and was standing up inside the fireplace when I found him.

Now before you call DHS on me, I was in the kitchen making cookies for Monday night football, and I was watching him play quietly by the couch. THEN... I walked over to the oven to check the cookies and that's when he made his escape. As soon as I walked back over to the sink, there he was inside of the fireplace.

I know these pictures aren't of him actually inside the fireplace, but I pulled him out of the fireplace before I decided to take a picture and I didn't want him to get back in and get his clothes all messed up. I am also posting a picture of my burned cookies. In all the cleaning up I forgot that I had put my cookies back in the oven and they got a little dark.

Here is Zach, He was excited that he found a new place to play.
Here are his nicely soiled hands :)
and here are my dark and crispy cookies.
Zachary also got a new haircut last week. He loves the bottle of gel.
He also loves playing with the comb. I love this picture I think he looks like he's singing.

Money Mondays

Recently I decided to start clipping coupons, and now I am addicted. I don't know what it is, but getting stuff for free, or really cheep has become an obsession of mine.

Here is one of my favorite money saving blogs! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Family Pictures

Do you ever have those days when you wish you had 4 hands, or those days when you wish you were one of the incredibles and your arms could stretch around the room? Well this morning after we got ready for church I realized that we all matched (I actually didn't do this on purpose) It just happened to be fall and we were all dressed for church in our new fall clothes.

Jonathan didn't have to play bass this morning so he was home, and I was ready early since he had been there to watch Zachary while I got ready so we had a few extra minutes before we had to leave for church. I got the camera and took several pictures of Jonathan and Zachary, then Jonathan took the camera and took pictures of Zach and I. Then..... we decided to take a family picture.

Here is where I start to wish that I had those long incredible arms :) Jonathan decides to set the timer on the camera, all is going well because Zach is looking straight at the camera smiling, and then Jonathan runs to get in the picture and Zach watches him and ends up looking up at Jonathan like "Dad, what are you doing?" in every single picture. Since there was no one actually taking the picture, there was no one for him to look at and he is too young to realize that the camera is on the other side of the room. So we have some great pictures of Mom and Zach, and some pictures of Dad and Zach, and a family picture of mom and dad looking at the camera and Zachary looking at Dad. :) Enjoy!
